This is the first article I decided to write for Silicon Drifters. The goal of this blog is to present technological solutions and guides on how to make better use of our computers, smartphones (which are basically pocket computers nowadays) and technology in order to make our lives more comfortable.
Here I will present an important guide for many people about a serious health problem as it shows an upward trend today because of modern lifestyle (sedentary lifestyle does not help) and the stress it generates. This guide is not written to advertise this product, nor it is sponsored by the manufacturer or anyone else, and may also violate the manufacturer's terms of use. But it is a real problem for many of us and since we are living in a prolonged period of financial struggle, I felt that I should publish the following guide (without profit). Not having the ability to buy a new android phone-tablet that is supported by the manufacturer of this specific blood glucose meter is a hassle so I found a way to make it work for me and share it with others who face the same issue.

Windows 10 encryption!!! (not your cup of tea, I know!!!)

This guide is not about Linux, it's about Windows, not a regular post. In my workplace i was found in a situation, that we needed to encrypt a Windows laptop, so my co-worker could work remotely. We had an older laptop laying around. That laptop was shipped to us with Windows 10 Home  edition.  Windows 10 Home edition does not come with BitLocker Encryption tool, and many  other features that are shipped in Pro and Enterprise editions. I thought it would be a good idea to create a guide, that would help people increase their privacy and secure their data from others, if something goes south. VeraCrypt is an open source software and a fork of TrueCrypt (TrueCrypt has not had an update for quite a while now), both programs are cross-platform encryption software (Windows, MacOS, Linux).
